Memorial to Molly Beatrice Gibbard
Molly was born in March 2005 with lung & heart disease and spent most of her short life in hospital. Molly loved CBeebies, having stories read to her and listening to her favourite nursery rhymes. Molly was sadly taken to God’s garden in January 2006 and is missed dearly every day by her family and friends.
Drain Technology are honoured to support the ongoing fundraising for Molly’s Butterfly fund and Helen & Douglas House as our chosen charities. We will be donating £1.00 from every job we complete.
The funds will help children & their families spend precious time together at Helen & Douglas House.
Helen & Douglas House
Helen & Douglas House is a registered hospice, providing palliative, respite, end-of-life and bereavement care to life-limited children and their families.
Based in East Oxford, Helen & Douglas House started life in November 1982, when Helen House and the children’s hospice movement was founded by Sister Frances Dominica. As the world’s first children’s hospice, Helen House has gone on to inspire 49 others across the UK and around the world.
Supporting families from surrounding counties as far as London, they care for terminally ill children at the hospice and through their outreach programme, they care for babies and children up to the age of 18. Parents, brothers, sisters, and grandparents are all part of the Helen & Douglas House family. At the toughest times of their lives, they give families the time and space to enjoy the precious moments they have left with each other.
It costs £3.6m this year to run the hospice, and 81% of this comes from charitable donations.
Since 2006 Steve & Suzy Gibbard and their friends and families have worked with the local community to continually fundraise for Helen & Douglas House and in memory of Molly’s Butterfly Fund, so far raising an incredible £52,812.30.
Drain Technology are proud to support this and encourage others to donate to this vital local resource. As a charity Helen & Douglas House rely heavily on public support to keep the doors open.
Every donation makes a big difference to the help they can offer terminally ill children and families facing the devasting loss of a child. Make a donation today and help bring comfort and support to families going through every parent’s worst nightmare.
